Mighway, an RV rental marketplace, recently expanded its partnerships to include all industry sectors, aiming to better serve consumers and increase business across all aspects of the RV industry.
New partners include: Thousand Trails campgrounds and Encore RV resorts, one of the largest networks of RV resorts and campgrounds in the U.S.; Aspira Connect, operator of ReserveAmerica.com and the largest provider of reservation systems for RV parks and campgrounds in the U.S.; and Roadtrippers.com, a leading online trip planning tool.
“Right now the RV industry is at a crossroads, where peer-to-peer platforms are often seen as competitors rather than what they are—a chance to grow its future,” says Dave Simmons, CEO of Mighway. “Peer-to-peers are introducing a new and gigantic generation of consumers who are tech-savvy and trust their peers more than traditional marketing. Mighway raises the bar for peer to peer RV rental marketplace because we partner with all segments of the industry, from commercial rental operators and manufacturers to RV parks and RV booking software providers, to better serve the consumer and expand business for all.”
Mighway—The RV Rental Marketplace is co-owned by THL, the world’s largest RV rental operator, and Thor Industries, the world’s largest RV manufacturer. Mighway was created by drawing on decades of industry experience to offer a new peer-to-peer hybrid that is changing the way people rent and list RVs online.
According to Mighway executives:
• Mighway was the first to partner with commercial rental operators and now leverages those relationships to offer a unique Mighway Managed solution where owners can list online and earn income but remain hands-off. This benefits the consumer through better service and cost-effective maintenance and storage solutions while opening up a new customer base for rental operators, associations and manufacturers.
• The Mighway model allows RV dealers to list commercial inventory on the platform a try-before-you-buy sales tool and provides an additional incremental revenue opportunity for established commercial RV rental and dealer businesses. Mighway also supports dealers with a unique Dealer Sales tool box that expands sales opportunities.
• Mighway partners with large and small commercial RV rental operators such as El Monte RV and Wheelie Nidil to offer renters more options, and provides owners a local expert to handle their rentals via the Mighway Managed program. This, in turn, expands marketing channels for the operators.
Through these new partnerships, Mighway hopes to expand its customer base. It also seeks to make the RV booking and travel experience better for customers, working with these new partners to create content that speaks to Millennials. Examples include an America road trip video and magazine series with Thousand Trails and Encore and content sharing with Roadtrippers.com. Once inspired to travel and choose their destination, the ReserveAmerica addition makes it easier for consumers to book their RV accommodations at some of the best state, national and privately owned parks across the U.S.
“We believe the best way for the industry to sustain its current growth is for all segments to work together,” Simmons says. “We’re the only peer-to-peer RV rental marketplace that collaborates with all these industry sectors and leverages that power to benefit both consumer and trade.”
