RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

RV Safety Recalls Announced by NTSA

151611783938413.pngThe National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced a list of recreational vehicles that may be involved in a safety recall.  
 
Dealers and owners should receive a letter from the manufacturers if their vehicle is involved in the recall. To find out if your dealership has a vehicle involved in the recall, go to VIN Search.

Safety issues include a wide range of issues, including incorrect locations of exits, brake problems, and endangered propane lines. Manufacturers include Winnebago, Erwin Hymer Group North America, Forest River,  and K-Z RV. 

A list of possibly recalled vehicles follows. Dealers should check the VIN search tool above to see if their individual vehicles are on the list. 

Erwin Hymer Group is recalling certain 2017-2018 Roadtrek RS Adventurous XL, E-trek XL, RS Adventurous, and E-trek motorhomes. It is also recalling certain 2015-2018 Roadtrek Zion motorhomes. 

Forest River is recalling some 2019 Coachmen Work and Play and Adrenaline recreational trailers, 2018-2019 Forest River Forester and XLR recreational trailers and 2018 Forest River Rockwood recreational trailers. 

K-Z is recalling some 2018-2019 K-Z RV Sportsmen 333BHK Travel Trailers, and a select number of 2018-2019 Connect recreational trailers. 

Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2012-2013 Winnebago Era, View, and Via motorhomes and Itasca Navion and Reyo motorhomes.
