NHTSA releases information on seven recall notices that affect various RV manufacturers and brands.
Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Four Winds, Chateau and Freedom Elite vehicles because the LP hose may not have sufficient space between the floor and the metal plate on the refrigerator. The situation may cause damage to the hose and possibly create a propane leak. The remedy is to remove a portion of the refrigerator base plate to provide additional clearance for the LP hose.
TMC is also recalling selected 2017 Tuscany XTE and 2017-2019 Venetian, Aria, Tuscany and Palazzo motorhomes built on Freightliner chassis. The Power Distribution Module may have been damaged during manufacturing, possibly resulting in the rear marker lights or turn signals not functioning. The remedy for recall is still under development.
In addition, Thor Motor Coach is recalling various 2018-2019 Thor Aria and Venetian motorhomes. The brake caliper mounting bolts may have been insufficiently tightened. The remedy is that TMC will notify owners and authorized service facilities to check and tighten the brake caliper mounting bolts, free of charge.
Keystone RV is recalling certain 2019 Crossroads Cruiser RVs that have a water heater installed under the slide out. The exhaust location for the water heater may cause carbon monoxide or propane gas to enter the living quarters. The remedy is that the affected vehicles are still in dealer inventory and Keystone will relocate the water heater free of charge.
Forest River is recalling selected 2017-2019 Forest River Georgetown and FR3 motorhomes, 2018-2019 Berkshire motorhomes and 2018 Charleston motorhomes. The motorized windshield roller shade at the driver’s seating position may unroll without warning while the vehicle is in motion. The remedy is that Forest River will notify owners and dealers that Forest River will install a fastener to ensure the motor won’t let the shade roll down while driving.
Forest River is also recalling some 2018-2019 Forest River Berkshire RVs (as well as Star Trans PS2 and 2019 Glaval Legacy transit buses) because the brake caliper mounting bolts may have been insufficiently tightened. The remedy is that Forest River will notify owners and authorized service facilities to check and tighten the brake caliper mounting bolts, free of charge.
Triple E RVs is recalling certain 2019 Triple E unity motorhomes, models U24MB, U24CBB, U24TB, U24IX and U24FX. The driver-side front trans-mount leveling jack support bracket may contact the brake line, causing a brake fluid leak and reduced braking ability.
