Southco’s line of Constant Torque Position Control Hinges provide constant resistance throughout the entire range of motion, enabling users to position doors, display screens and other mounted components and hold them securely at any desired angle—fully opened, fully closed or anywhere in between.

Constructed of plastic and stainless steel, the plastic E6 Constant Torque Position Control Hinge provides the benefits of constant torque and contemporary styling in a lightweight package.

“The plastic E6 Constant Torque Position Control Hinge offers improved corrosion resistance and customized torque options for a wide variety of applications,” Global Product Manager Todd Schwanger says, “and eliminates costs associated with die-cast options or installing additional support components to maintain consistent positioning.”

Southco has also expanded its line of rotary latches with a new version that can be triggered by hand via an integrated plastic knob, eliminating the need for a separate cable and actuator. The hand-actuated R4-20 Rotary Latch features steel construction, providing a long-lasting solution for demanding applications such as hidden access panels and doors on transportation and industrial equipment.

Southco’s hand-actuated R4-20 Rotary Latch features a compact, space-saving design
that facilitates inside door mounting and is available in through-hole, metric and
imperial mounting styles. This versatile latch is available with single or two-stage latching, ensuring secure latching at low closing forces. Southco’s R4-20 series offers superior latch to striker mating tolerances, making it suitable for flexible panel applications with inherent misalignment concerns.

“The hand-actuated R4-20 offers a simplified rotary system solution by eliminating the need for a separate actuator and cable,” Global Product Manager Cynthia Bart says. “High strength construction and a two-stage latching option provide added safety and security for a variety of heavy-duty applications.”
