RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Adams was recognized at the annual Best of MichBusiness Awards and Gala, at which more than 300 people gathered to honor Michigan's most innovative and successful companies.

Adams, in his fourth year as CEO at Spartan, has orchestrated a shift that has transformed the company from regional chassis manufacturer to global leader and category innovator of last mile delivery vehicles, emergency response vehicles, Class A Diesel motorhomes, specialty service vehicles and custom upfitted vocational fleets.

Adams has applied more than 30 years of automotive manufacturing experience to introduce LEAN and Six Sigma manufacturing principals while developing a culture of employee empowerment that contributes to an impressive innovation pipeline. The result is a revitalized commitment to manufacturing excellence and milestone business outcomes that include a 40 percent increase in revenue and a 1,225 percent increase in net income in just four years.
