The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.
Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Seeking a more personal way to connect with dealers and qualified prospects, Gulf Stream Coach Inc. is hosting its first Holiday Open House. Between now and Dec. 14, its latest units will be on display indoors adjacent to the Gulf Stream Coach Country Club in Nappanee, Ind. The open house is being hosted from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
“We’re giving dealers a chance to explore Gulf Stream Coach travel trailers and motorhomes in a casual, relaxed atmosphere,” Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jeff Kloska says. “We’ve staged 25 of our latest production units inside, where it’s warm, dry, comfortable and well-lit.”
Gulf Stream has historically held its open house during the National RV Show in Louisville, Ky., however, the company feels the change of venue will provide a better way to showcase its units. Management thinks holding the open house during the off-season and at a time of year when dealers are evaluating opportunities for the upcoming season makes good business sense.
“The sheer size and complexity of the September Open House can be overwhelming,” Kloska says. “Our Holiday Open House gives our dealers all the time they need to consider our offerings in depth, and to make sound purchase decisions for their businesses.
“In addition, we have dealership sales and tech staff using the event to tour our facilities and take advantage of training opportunities.
“Yesterday, we had five to seven dealerships alone,” Kloska says. “We’re pretty excited about the opportunity. This is a great venue for them to see the product and spend more intimate time with the sales reps. We’re very pleased with the open house so far.”
