RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

RV Women’s Alliance to Launch at RVX

154532270713408.pngThe newly formed RV Women’s Alliance will launch formally at RVX: The RV Experience, in Salt Lake City, March 13, 2019.

The group’s vision is to elevate the roles and contributions women are making in the RV industry by promoting diversity and providing programs, resources and a collaborative environment for women who are pursuing long-term careers in the industry. The group’s mission is to bring together a diverse group of women—and men—who inspire and empower. The group plans to form a grass-roots but formal organization dedicated to mentoring women in the RV industry.

An initial group met during the RVDA Convention in November to talk about the launch of the program and how to build a sustainable program for the future. The women represented a cross section of dealers, suppliers, media and association staff who were brought together for a common cause.

“We’re really excited to be forming this group,” Group Chair Susan Carpenter says. “With more and more women entering the industry, it’s a great time to encourage women to explore the variety of career opportunities available, help with mentorship, networking and more.”

“This is not meant to be an exclusive women’s club,” Senior Vice President of RVIA Liz Crawford says. “There are so many organizations out there that act in a similar capacity. We want to provide folks with an opportunity to learn from others, seek ways to share best practices, and encourage women from all walks of life to enter this exciting market.”
