154091370623856.jpgLippert Components Inc. (LCI), announces that its Acts of Service program, designed to spur community service hours, has reached a milestone of 200,000 hours of volunteer work.

The figure doubles the expected goal of 100,000 hours Lippert spent when it started the program. Reaching the larger goal is helped by the fact that the program has been adopted by 20 other employers in the Elkhart, Ind., area. Volunteers have spent their time transforming parks, mentoring children, staffing special events and building bonds between volunteers, nonprofit organizations and their communities. More than 1,000 nonprofit organization around the world have benefitted so far.

“This entire experience of watching Acts of Service grow has been humbling,” Acts of Service Director Michilah Grimes says. “This milestone is not about the hours, but about how the idea of connecting businesses and individuals with nonprofits has changed, not only corporate cultures, but also communities. This incredible milestone would not be possible without our committed nonprofit, corporate and individual partners.”
