Automotive News reports that a new camera system will help drivers towing travel trailers see what is behind them on the road.

The Valeo XtraVue Trailer essentially makes a trailer invisible to the driver by displaying on a screen the view behind the truck and trailer, helping to mitigate blind sports.

The publication says the innovation will debut in late summer under the name "transparent trailer view" on 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD and 2020 GMC Sierra HD models.

The technology works with a box or camping trailer up to 32 feet long using a conventional hitch and an available auxiliary accessory camera mounted on the rear of the trailer.
