155735506582326.pngBean Trailer, a manufacturer of teardrops, was recently named “The Coolest Thing Made in Utah” in a contest organized by the Utah Manufacturers Association (UMA). Bean was selected from 222 nominations. UMA says the contest is designed to enhance public awareness of manufacturing in Utah.

"We wanted a small durable trailer with good design to take on mountain biking trips,” says Mark Harling, president and owner of Bean Trailer. “We looked everywhere and could not find anything suited to our requirements. In researching for a trailer, we figured out we had the capability to make a better one ourselves.

“While we were designing the trailer, my daughter was expecting our grandchild,” Harling says. “We were sitting around one day, and she told us her pregnancy app said her baby was the ‘size of a Bean.’ We started calling her unborn child ‘Bean’ and it also seemed like a good name for the trailer.

Harling describes Utah as a business and manufacturing friendly environment and with great, dedicated people who are committed to doing a good job. He says it offers a spectacular “testing lab” in the company’s backyard for his products with the state's "incredible" wilderness and world-renowned state and national parks.

Also voted among the top 25 Coolest Products in Utah was Equal-i-zer Hitch.

"We are thrilled to be named one of the ‘Top 25 Coolest Things Made in Utah,’ and congratulate Bean Trailer for winning first place," says Equal-i-zer hitch CEO Jed Anderson. "We are proud to be part of the manufacturing industry and are excited to take part in the growth in manufacturing across America."
