2019 RVIA Economic Impact Study

The new RVs Move America Economic Impact Study, released June 3, 2019 at the annual meeting of RVIA, revealed the RV industry has an overall economic impact on the US economy of $114 billion, supporting nearly 600,000 jobs, contributing more than $32 billion in wages, and paying more than $12 billion in federal, state, and local taxes. The announcement was made by Garry Enyart, RVIA chairman, and Onan/Cummins Director of Mobile Generator Sales & Coach Care.

Lippert Components Launches Program to Drive Business to Dealers

156052475142021.pngLippert Components has launched a program to help drive parts and accessories business to dealerships. The prep program for Solera Slide Toppers is designed to make installation easier and more efficient.

The toppers are installed above an RV slide-out. They help prevent dirt, water and other debris from getting inside the coach when a slide is retracted.

“RV owners are having slide toppers installed every single day. With this program, our goal was to first call out to the consumer that this option is available, and then ultimately make the installation process faster and easier for the dealer,” Vice President of Aftermarket Sales Mark Boessler said. “At LCI, we strive to make products that enhance the mobile lifestyle and protect the end user’s investment.”

Solera will debut on 2020 models as the first and only awning brand to prep new RVs for quick installation, according to the Elkhart, Indiana-based manufacturing and distribution company. Starting this summer, Lippert plans to prep more than 150,000 slide-outs on some of the most popular OEM brands. Using its patent-pending access kit to install Solera Slide Toppers is expected to save time.

“We thank our OEM partners for trusting LCI with this tremendous program that will ultimately help drive more parts and accessories business to the dealerships,” Boessler said. “Our Aftermarket and OEM sales teams worked together to get this program pushed through at both levels and, in the end, we came up with a great solution for our OEM and dealer partners that should increase slide-topper business for any dealership carrying these prepped brands.”
