RV Retailer, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., announces that it acquired Tom's Camperland of Phoenix and Camper Country RV of South Carolina, expanding its footprint to 21 RV stores in six states.

Tom’s Camperland President, Brad Leach, will continue to lead Tom's Camperland and has become a shareholder of RV Retailer. Tom’s Camperland has operated in the Phoenix metro market since 1977 with locations in Mesa, Surprise and a new location in Avondale. In its last fiscal year, the company, which specializes in the light towable segment, sold 1,600 RVs.

Camper Country RV, which sells Jayco towable and Tiffin motorhome products at its Myrtle Beach store recently renovated and rebranded the location as a RV One Superstore.

"We are pleased to enter the Arizona and South Carolina markets," RV Retailer President and CEO Jon Ferrando says. "We expect to grow our business throughout the Carolinas and the Southwest. These markets have excellent demographics and growth prospects for the RV business."

According to Ferrando, Tom's Camperland was the No. 1 Lance and No.1 Nu Camp dealer in the U.S. last year. He says it is also a leading retailer of truck campers and truck caps.

"This acquisition allows us to diversify our product portfolio into the light towables segment," Ferrando says. "Tom's Camperland has expertise selling an array of light towable products that offer consumers an attractive entry point into the RV lifestyle."

"I am excited to be a partner with Jon Ferrando and the RV Retailer team,” Leach says. "I look forward to continuing our relationships with all of our manufacturer partners."

As it enters the Myrtle Beach market, RV Retailer adds Tiffin luxury motorhomes to its retail franchise mix, Ferrando says. "I am excited about the growth prospects under the leadership of Don Strollo and the RV One Superstores team."

Strollo, CEO of RV One, says "Myrtle Beach is a tremendous RV market. Re-launching the new store in Myrtle Beach under the RV One Superstores brand allows us to pursue our goal of building the leading RV sales and service operation in the market."
