Navistar Completes Monaco Acquisition As previously disclosed, Navistar International Corporation ("Navistar"), through its wholly owned subsidiary Workhorse International Holding Company, completed the acquisition of certain assets of Monaco Coach Corporation ("Monaco") for cash consideration of approximately $45 million. RVIA Boosts Federal Profile with Legislative Awards, Advocacy Day At this year’s Committee Week, RVIA members participated in several activities that boosted the industry’s profile on Capitol Hill, ensured that Congress is aware of the RV industry’s needs, and recognized the work done on the industry’s behalf by members of Congress. Over three days, RVIA presented awards to one senator and two congressmen, made over 40 visits to members of Congress and their staffs, and held a fundraiser for Rep. Peter DeFazio of Oregon. RV Shipments to Begin Recovery in 2010 The RV industry’s shipments are projected to total approximately 169,500 units in 2010 — a 24 percent increase from the 136,500 predicted for 2009 — according to a new forecast by RV industry analyst Dr. Richard Curtin, released at Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) Annual Membership Meeting on June 9. April 2009 RV Shipments Latest Shipment Figures Available as of Jul 03, 2009 Wholesale shipments to retailers of all RVs were reported at 13,300 units in the April survey of manufacturers,
up 3.9% from last month but off 57.6% from this same month last year. Although well below this same period
last year, April reported the highest total since October 2008 with totals reaching a seasonally adjusted annual
rate of more than 130,000 units. Year to date totals now stand at 43,700 units through the first four months
this year, off 61.7% for the same period, one year earlier. [ more ]
