Winnebago Contributes $100,000 to Go RVing

Following the Outlook 2000 breakfast, contributing editor Bob Zagami had an opportunity to spend a few minutes with Bruce D. Hertzke, chairman, CEO and president of Winnebago Industries.

Hertzke presented RVIA with a check for $100,000 at the breakfast and established a new "Champion" level in the second phase of the $40 million dollar Go RVing market expansion program.

When asked why Winnebago Industries chose to make such a significant contribution, over and above what the company contributes through the assessment of charges on the RVIA seal placed on each manufactured product, Hertzke said it was the "most effective way that we can show our commitment to this industry.

"We are confident that others will follow and continue to support this program to insure its success."

When it comes to advertising, Hertzke said, "The investment in the Go RVing program is 'one of the most effective' ways we can spend our money in this industry."

When questioned about the lack of participation by many dealers in phase one of the program, Hertzke simply smiled and said "I think you will see significant dealer improvement in the second phase of the program."

There is no doubt that this man, and his company, are solidly behind the very effective market expansion program and is looking forward to the launch of the new campaign in January 2000. The program needs the support of all those involved in the industry and Hertzke is confident it will be forthcoming in the next three years of phase II of the Go RVing campaign.
