Three Regional Top Quality Dealerships Also Selected Crestview RV Center Named
Crestview RV Center, with locations in Austin and San Antonio, TX, was named RVDA Top Quality Dealer of the Year on Sept. 26 during the association's Annual Meeting held in conjuction with the RV Dealers International Convention/Expo in Orlando FL. RVDA Past Chairman Randy Biles of Pikes Peak Traveland in Colorado Springs, CO presented the award to dealer principal Scott Lougheed. Scott Lougheed. founded Crestview Center in 1983, after attending Northwood Institute, where he studied auto marketing and retailing. The dealership has made a substantial investment in employee training and new facilities, and is currently expanding its service center. Crestview RV has received many awards over the years including recognition from Fleetwood, Jayco, and Skyline. Scott's father, Don Lougheed of Ballantyne RV is a retired dealer and was RVDA President in 1976. "My father, RVDA, and my 20 Group taught me that values and business ethics need to be a top priority." Lougheed. said. "At Crestview RV, we treat customers the way we would want to be treated, consider employees partners in our business, and always have a short and long-term business plan." The Top Quality Dealer of the Year Award recognizes RV dealerships that, through their professionalism, promote a positive image of RV travel, RV dealers, and the RV industry at large. Any RVDA member who owns and operates a full service RV dealership is eligible to be nominated. Judging focuses on customer satisfaction, sales, financial status, physical plant, association and community service, and responsiveness to adversity. A panel of judges who are past recipients of the award selected a national Top Quality Dealer and three regional Top Quality Dealers. Regional Top Quality Dealers for 2000 are: Southern Region Crowder RV Center, Johnson City, TN. Founded by James Crowder in 1968, his sons Jeff and Mark Crowder, and partner, Rick Rodgers have joined the dealership's ownership team. Crowder RV Center built a new facility in 1988 and has since remodeled customer service areas and the parts department. Jeff Crowder served on RVDA's Board of directors from 1996 to 1998. The dealership is active in RVDA-Spader 20 Groups, winning the Dale Peterson 20 Group Award in 1999. Midwest Region Tom Stinnett RV Center, Clarksville, IN and Louisville, KY. Dealer principal Tom Stinnett became minority owner of a manufactured home/RV sales center in 1978. Two years later, he bought the remaining shares of the dealership that became Tom Stinnet opened a new facility that includes a 50,000 sq. ft. showroom, a 26,000 sq. ft. service center, and an employee training department. Tom Stinnett was RVDA Chairman of the Board in 1995-96. He is the association's Market Expansion Committee Chairman and serves on the GO RVing Coalition. Western Region Pan Pacific RV Center, INC., French Camp and Sacramento, CA. Jim and Sherry Shields purchased Mid-Valley Trailer Sales in 1985 and Pan Pacific Trailer Sales in 1987. Since that time, the two Pan Pacific locations have grown in size and sales volume. The French Camp dealership moved to a new 25,000 sq. ft. facility with an indoor showroom in 1997 and the dealership plans improvements to the Sacramento facility in 2000. Jim Shields served on the RVDA Board of Directors in 1994-1996 and is active in CalRVDA.
