San Diego Union Tribune Taps Web Site Management to Provide RV-Related Content for Web Site Web Site Management, Inc., and the San Diego Union Tribune recently entered into a licensing agreement calling for Web Site Management to design and implement RV classified ad content to the newspaper's web site, SignOnSanDiego (www.signonsandiego.com).
According to Dan Holt, CEO of Web Site Management, the program includes two major features. The first feature allows San Diego area RV dealers the opportunity to list a large number of units on signonsan-diego.com by purchasing a special module on a annual basis. The second feature brings the RV America national dealer inventory listings into the signonsandiego.com site so visitors to the web site can search a national database of pre-owned RVs. Holt said, "This is an important milestone for us and required a lot of complex programming by our design team to give the San Diego Union Tribune the type of program it needed to enhance its on line RV Center Marketplace." San Diego RV dealers will be able to manage their own inventory and keep it up to the minute by working on a live database, which resides on Web Site Man-agement's servers. As an added benefit to San Diego area dealers, their inventory will also be displayed on the RV America On Line® (www.rvamerica.com) web site when a visitor enters a search for either pre-owned RVs or Internet specials. "Everybody wins here," Holt added. "We believe that this is also a great benefit to our existing clients on RV America's hosting service because when a visitor to signonsandiego.com searches the national database of RVs, what they are seeing is all the inventory entered by dealers who have their web sites hosted on RV America." RV America On Line® is a service of Web Site Management and hosts more than 150 RV dealer web sites. Nearly all of these dealers use the RV America inventory management module and the resulting database includes nearly 10,000 RVs for sale. Holt continued, "We see this as a very valuable, no-cost benefit to our customers on RV America. Not only will signonsandiego.com visitors see this inventory, they will also be able to link into the dealer's web site to see what other types of products and services they offer." Holt said while the greatest benefit for RV America clients are probably those in the western region of the United States; he also pointed out that the nature of the Internet doesn't necessarily mean that only San Diego area visitors will be visiting the signonsandiego.com web site they could come from anywhere in the country or the world, for that matter. "In addition," Holt said, "the program we developed for the San Diego Union Tribune and licensed to them could be the first in a series of newspapers to use this service." According to Holt, numerous Internet companies have developed classified ad programs and provide content for cars and trucks, but no company other than Web Site Management had the industry expertise, the client pool, and the programming talent to develop an RV content program for newspapers' web sites. Holt concluded, "As the Internet has evolved and become more and more important to every RV company's business, Web Site Management has evolved as well. More and more we are seeing customers who see new opportunities and possibilities on the Internet and these ideas are requiring specially designed programs. Our program design team enjoys the challenge of new ways to use the Internet and is motivated by these creative ideas. "And even though we can help companies such as the San Diego Union Tribune enhance their Internet presence, we have never lost sight of our core business which is hosting web sites for RV industry companies.
