Quite often, the trade publications
tend to focus on the larger companies, dealers, and related industries
and the successful small business entrepreneurs are left on the
cutting room floor.
Not this month. We've selected three outstanding small business ventures that
have
quietly earned industry honors that are the envy of their peers.
These small businesses can teach a few big businesses some important lessons in sales success and customer service.
Here's a sneak peek at the three companies we have chosen to highlight in
this article.
New Go RVing Campaign to Reach More
Potential Buyers
New RVIA seals, which will help fund increased
media schedule, go into effect this month
Millions more potential new RV buyers will be reached
through prime-time network television and network radio
advertising beginning next spring as a result of the Go RVing
Coalition's June 10 recommendation, and ensuing RVIA and RVDA
Board of Directors' approvals, to increase funding for the Phase
III
national advertising campaign. Approximately $3 million additional advertising dollars per year will be made possible through
increasing manufacturer new unit assessments, RVIA supplier
member dues and other voluntary contributions.
The new assessments are projected to raise a total of $46
million
during the three-year cycle, based on an estimated 300,000 total
units manufactured per year.

Consolidation
This is a strange time
in America. We are not in
a recession and business
is actually very good for many
industries, including this one.
Some companies may be challenged, but overall we have a
very optimistic outlook on the
short term and long term success of the RV industry.
Unlike past downturns,
everybody is not going down at
the same time. In every
industry today we have strong
players and weak players.
Consolidation is inevit- able
with these dynamics.
