Thetford Responds to California Law With New Chemical Line

Thetford released its new AquaBio line of RV sewer products in October of 2019 in response to new California regulations that limit what chemicals can be put in RV dump stations.

Thetford Corp. is launching a new line of formaldehyde- and bronopol-free holding tank products that comply with California’s new environmental laws. The AquaBio product line digests waste and eliminates odors and has a citrus scent. The product is safe for septic systems.

On Sept. 26, California enacted a new law banning 13 different chemicals. The CampCalNow RV Park and Campground Alliance supported the ban. The new law goes into effect Jan. 1, 2022.

AquaBio, which will be available in early February, will be available in 16- and 30-count toss-ins and 8-count dry packs. Liquid products will include 32- and 64-ounce and one gallon bottles as well as 6-packs of 8-ounce bottles.
