Grant Brown, son of Campers Inn of Mesa General Manager Matt Brown, was awarded the Mike Molino RV Learning Center Scholarship for the academic year 2025-2026.

Endowed through the Kindlund Family Foundation, the $2,500 award goes to a deserving RV industry employee or their dependent enrolled in undergraduate studies.

Brown will be a junior this fall at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. He is pursuing a double major in business management and finance and has a 3.54-grade point average.d

Grant Brown said, “I have grown up watching my dad work in the RV business. I have experienced how the RV industry is about selling something that enables families to create memories that last a lifetime. I find this industry extremely rewarding because there are very few industries where the product you sell can bring people and families together in this way.”

RV Learning Center Education Director Ally Brown said Grant Brown was chosen for his achievements in the classroom and the community.

“His dedication, talent and passion for learning,” she said, “represent the bright future of the RV industry.”

Matt Brown said he was proud of his son.

“As a father, and as someone who has spent the best years of his career in the RV industry, it is incredibly meaningful to see my son honored in this way,” Matt Brown said. “I have watched him grow up around this business, and it is inspiring to see him appreciate the joy our industry brings to families at the same time as he looks at our industry with a fresh perspective.”

The Kindlund family, which endowed the scholarship program with $370,000, remains active in the RV industry since selling Holiday RV Superstores in 1999. Newt Kindlund serves as the RV Learning Center board of director’s director emeritus.

“This scholarship is one of the oldest in the industry,” Kindlund said, “and we are very proud to have established it over 20 years ago.”

The RV Learning Center’s scholarship applicants are judged on their current RV industry involvement or their plan to seek employment in the industry upon graduation, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and honors, financial need, and a 500-word essay on their goals and objectives after college.

The program has awarded $85,000 to 34 students since 2000.
