American technology supplier Resonado Labs is growing its engineering team with the hiring of Benny Danovi as the company’s VP of engineering and principal transducer engineer.

In his new role, Danovi will spearhead the expansion of the company’s Flat Core Speaker (FCS) technology, set to launch with Airstream this year. Danovi’s focus will be on driving design for automotive and multimedia applications.

Resonado Labs noted Danovi has spent four decades in the transducer engineering industry, responsible for numerous loudspeaker products. He spent 16 years building speaker systems within his own business, Sound Art.

“The global shift towards spending more time at home further accelerated increased consumer desire for space-efficient audio systems, such as reduced height and depth in soundbars, which heightened demand for FCS technology transducers from brands and their respective OEMs,” Resonado Labs co-founder and CEO Brian Youngil Cho said. “This resulted in company growth at a rate much greater than expected. Benny is one of the best in the game when it comes to advanced transducer design, and we cannot wait to further our mission of introducing the next generation of transducer architecture that enables slim and sleek product design without having to compromise on acoustic performance.”

Danovi previously worked with Pioneer and Harman in an “instrumental role” developing high-performance automotive transducers. He designed more than 100 drivers under brands such as Bowers & Wilkins, Harman Kardon, JBL, Mark Levinson and Revel.

“I have been in the industry a long time and have a deep understanding of what the audio industry values and the direction it is going,” Danovi said. “Resonado Labs is in a position to provide something that is becoming more and more sought after every day – high-performance transducers with a slim profile. My philosophy has always been to not only continuously innovate and never settle, but to engineer everything with a passion for the process and with the utmost attention to quality and performance to give the end user the best possible experience. Resonado Labs lives and breathes this mindset. I truly believe the company is introducing an industry-shifting technology, and I am excited to be in on the ground floor to contribute towards executing the Resonado Labs vision.”

Resonado Labs is welcoming Danovi to the team just as the company prepares to introduce their first commercial products. The first generation of FCS technology transducers will start with an Airstream launch this summer.
