Camco Manufacturing Founder Don Caine Dies

Camco Manufacturing founder and co-CEO Don Caine passed away recently at 81 years old in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Caine was born and raised in Greensboro on a tobacco and dairy farm, the company stated. He served in the North Carolina Army National Guard from 1962 to 1968.

After graduating from High Point College, now High Point University, Caine took a job at Atlantic Mobile Home Suppliers Corp.

In 1966, he and his partner Wade Meyers established C and M Products, which became Camco Manufacturing in 1968. The company started with mobile home antifreeze as its only product, later adding offerings in the RV and residential hardware markets.

Camco’s headquarters continues to manufacture and assemble more than 5,000 products in Greensboro.

Caine is survived by his wife, daughter, son and four grandchildren.
