Camping World Holdings, Inc. said the industry’s largest dealer chain is advocating for a legislative fix to provide full floorplan deductibility for dealers selling towable RVs.
The provision is included in the Senate’s reconciliation bill, under consideration by Congress. Camping World executives said this provision represents common-sense tax policy that supports U.S.-built products and affordable family travel.
Camping World Chairman and CEO Marcus Lemonis said, “RVs are one of the last great American-built products, made by hardworking Americans. This bill, if passed as originally intended, would provide RV families with long overdue affordability relief after years of rising inflation and stubbornly high interest rates.”
Lemonis had a strong message for potential legislative detractors.
“Let’s be clear, any senator who does not back this straightforward, pro-America legislation is letting down millions of hardworking RV owners,” he said. “The voters will remember next election cycle who stands with them and who does not. We collectively thank Chairman Mike Crapo of Idaho, Sen. Todd Young of Indiana, Sen. John Thune of South Dakota and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina for their continued support of this relief and advocacy of our great industry.”
Camping World set up a website, www.campingworld.com/RVdeduction, for consumers to access tools to contact their elected officials about the legislation.
