Hundreds gathered for an 8 p.m. prayer vigil August 4 in a high school parking lot in Elkhart, Ind. to remember U.S. Rep. Jacki Walorski, Emma Thomson, Zachery Potts and Edith Schmucker who perished in a car accident Wednesday.

Director of Wellness for Hubbard Hill Living Wisdom Community in Elkhart Tim Henke arranged the event.

The crowd sang and held a group prayer session for an hour. Walorski’s husband Dean Swihart spoke at the vigil as did Rep. Susan Brooks of Indiana’s District 5 and Rep. Tim Wesco of District 21. Those gathered left as heavy rains started to fall, cutting the service short.
