AC Nelsen RV World in Nebraska has been in business 103 years. Lester Reynolds has worked there for half the company’s life.

Lester Reynolds, 87 years old, is celebrating his 50th year at the dealership, the company said.

Fifty years after “Joy to the World” and “Maggie May” ruled the radios and “Billy Jack” and “Fiddler on the Roof” topped the box office, Reynolds still can be found working half-days at AC Nelsen’s parts store.

“It keeps me out of the bars and off the streets,” Reynolds said. “I will keep working ‘til J.C. calls me home.”

Reynolds’s career began delivering and setting up mobile homes, traveling to every state to bring mobile homes to customers. A decade later Reynolds moved to the service department full-time, repairing travel trailers and fifth wheels.

Reynolds eventually became a master technician but after 46 years and a knee replacement, climbing in and out of RVs needed to end, the company said.

Reynolds said he did not want to sit at home, however, so he returned to work the parts store.
