EXCLUSIVE: Awaken RV to Debut Flagship Model in Tampa

Former NuCamp CEO Scott Hubble is ready to unveil his latest project to the RV world.

In mid-2024, Hubble stepped away from his former position and started Awaken RV. As 2026 begins, Awaken RV is set to release its inaugural model, the MorningStar, along with its companion, the MorningStar-i.

Awaken RV initially had its sights set on debuting the models at Elkhart Extravaganza in September, but the RV had not reached the quality level Hubble insisted on.

He said, “We just did not have something that I would have felt good about,” Hubble said.

Hubble said some suppliers encountered challenges neither they nor he forecast.

Three months later, Hubble said the first MorningStar will be finished in the coming week. The RV will be unveiled at the Florida RV Super Show in Tampa in January.

The flagship model is a molded fiberglass travel trailer. The dual-axle RV is just over 23 feet long. The trailer weighs 5,320 pounds dry and has a gross vehicle weight rating of 7,000 pounds.

MorningStar production will be in small batches. The RVs will be sold through a network of 12-15 dealers that Hubble has formed relationships with over his career.

“I am rolling out with a lot of the, I would say, friendship partners,” Hubble said. “These are people who are just salt of the earth…people that run good businesses and people I’m aligned with from a core value standpoint.”

Hubble plans to manufacture six different models of various lengths. In just a few years, he said Awaken RV hopes to have 17-foot, 20-foot, 23-foot, 26-foot, 29-foot and 32-foot models.

Hubble said each model will offer multiple floorplans, except for the 17-foot trailer, which is too small for much variation.

“Every single unit we do is going to be a dry bath all the way in the back of the unit, and up front is your bed,” Hubble said. “Then the question is, what are we going to do with the space in between? What are those different options there?”

Standard features include 500 watts of solar panel power, a 270-amp-hour lithium battery and a 3,000-watt inverter.

“The MorningStar is thoughtfully designed to balance elegance, innovation and enduring craftsmanship,” Hubble said. “MorningStar serves as the cornerstone of Awaken RV’s mission to bring the beauty and durability of molded fiberglass to a wider audience.”

The MorningStar is positioned in the middle of the market, with an expected $85,000 MSRP.

“Its European styling breaks from the traditional ‘egg’ design that features a heavy beltline,” Hubble said, “and its functionality matches its form.”

The MorningStar’s companion model, the MorningStar-i, might appear in Tampa. He said the plan was to take the Morning Star to Tampa, but he has an outside chance to take the MorningStar-i. The MorningStar-i adds independent suspension and an anti-lock brake system to the MorningStar. The MorningStar-i will feature a different color and a different bedroom floorplan.

The MorningStar-i will eventually be available in 2026. The RV will feature industrial protection on the front of the trailer, bigger tires and weigh just under 6,000 pounds.

“It is still going to be that European sleek body,” Hubble said. “It is just going to be positioned on a different set of shoes.”

Hubble acknowledges fiberglass travel trailers are a niche market, but he said he is familiar with the market.

“It is a relationship-built community filled with great people. They are not your traditional consumer,” Hubble said. “When I got into this, I knew that the market was limited, but I knew exactly what I needed to put together. I need to achieve the balance between scarcity and meeting the market where it is at.”

Awaken RV put a soft cap on annual production of 200 MorningStars. Hubble said when the manufacturer has a full RV line, production will ramp up to roughly 1,200 RVs a year.

“We will explore and expand into different things, be it a truck camper or another tiny trailer,” Hubble said. “Maybe we do the first-ever fifth wheel that is fiberglass and not micro.”

Awaken RV will be unveiling the MorningStar at noon Jan. 14

“True to its name,” Hubble said, “the MorningStar is a beacon for travelers who seek purpose, comfort, and a deeper connection to the road — guiding the next era of adventure under the Awaken RV banner.”
