Dometic’s RV manufacturing, RV aftermarket and service leaders will meet Wednesday and Thursday at the company’s U.S. headquarters and additional locations in Elkhart, Indiana, for a strategy meeting.

The RV team will meet to assess buyer behavior, sales trends and the overall climate of the RV industry, Dometic said.

“I think it is important for Dometic to come home after so long being on the road and selling to regroup and recharge,” RV Brand Manager Sara Dover said. “It’s also important for aftermarket and manufacturing to learn from each other and talk about how business is going. to talk strategy and touch base.”

The Dometic aftermarket team works around the country and in Canada, while Dometic’s OEM, customer service, logistics and support teams are

 based in Elkhart.

Dometic has grown recently in nearly every department. The company has a relatively new president and a new chief marketing officer as well, making this meeting a great opportunity to bring everyone together “in the heart of RV country,” Dover said.

Some of the company’s employees have never been in an OEM RV plant, said Dometic Vice President for Aftermarket and Service Michael McCaslin.

For that reason, attendees start Wednesday touring four nearby manufacturers. Meetings will take place in the afternoon.

Wednesday evening, Dometic will host a dinner and Dometic President Oliver Bahr will address the group.

Thursday, the aftermarket service for business team will hold a strategy meeting. The group will cover several topics including: aftermarket service awareness within the company, promotions related to service, dealer and distributer relations and parts availability, McCaslin said.

Over the two days, the group will also discuss marketing strategy and cover younger buyer preferences. Guest speakers will present culturally relevant topics such as diversity and inclusion, Dover said.

Dover emphasized the importance of meeting in Elkhart.

“Those who are in the industry, we know, but if you are outside of it, or you do not live here and you just think that RVing is cool, I do not think you fully grasp the impact that small Elkhart has on our GDP,”  she said. “It is nice to have my colleagues come here so they can see the impact this community has on this country.”

While most teams meet regularly, Dometic would like to meet annually or semi-annually as an entire group with the RV manufacturing, RV aftermarket and leadership teams, McCaslin said.

“I am excited to join together as a company and discuss upcoming trends and expectations for our customers as we move into the latter half of the year,” said Tom Montague, vice president of Dometic RV OEM sales. “Meeting customer demand and expectations is imperative to Dometic’s success as we plan upcoming endeavors, and it will be great to check our pace halfway through the year.”
