Forest River’s XLR brand will begin factory-installing tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) on select toy haulers beginning March 2020. This effort is part of its XtraBuilt commitment. The TMPS product chosen is from Truck System Technologies (TST).

“XLR is excited to lead the way as the first toy hauler in the industry to include TPMS standard on our Hyperlite, Nitro and Thunderbolt models,” XLR General Manager Brent Stevens said. “TST’s TPMS will help extend tire life, reduce issues caused by under-inflation and in some cases, prevent blow outs, creating more action camping for XLR owners by bringing tire temperature and pressure into the driver’s field of vision. One of the additional benefits of this system is it can be easily expanded to use on the toys everyone hauls inside their XLR! TST, and its parent company PSI, are leaders for Automatic Tire Inflation (ATIS) and TMPS in the commercial trucking industry. It was an easy choice to select and partner with TST. We couldn’t be happier to bring their expertise in this field to the Forest River XLR line of RV’s.”

Continuously reporting temperature and pressure simultaneously on the largest wide-screen color display, TST’s TPMS will notify drivers of pressure or temperature changes via visual, audible and readable alerts. Along with RVs, TST systems can monitor up to five trailers of any kind along with numerous toys. It also monitors the tow vehicle and up to 115 tires, including spares.

“TST is honored to partner with XLR. We respect Brent’s acumen for superior products and commitment to provide the highest quality for XLR Owners,” said Bear Musgrave, Vice President of PSI and the Business Unit Director of TST. “We’re thrilled to be selected as XLR’s OE standard TPMS. Our TPMS is built from the ground up, to our specifications, to meet the rigors of commercial trucking. This is not an off-the-shelf TPMS. We are very proud of what we have built.”

Stevens said, “XLR is confident the TST system is the absolute best tire pressure monitoring system in the market. Our dealers will appreciate the added value TST’s TPMS brings to XLR and exceptional customer service that TST provides. This partnership provides increased awareness reducing potential tire issues as XLR owners travel the country in their Forest River RV.”
