Go Power!, a solar and mobile power solutions provider, released the Eclipse MPPT Solar Series, a range of fast-charging solar kits that integrate Smart RV capabilities.

The Eclipse line uses 30-amp maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controllers that are 30% more efficient than legacy controllers, the company said.

MPPT controllers optimize the match between the solar array and the battery bank or utility grid to provide faster, more efficient charging.

Eclipse features include:

  • A choice of either a rigid, black-framed 190-watt solar panel or a black, flexible 190-watt unit
  • Expansion up to 3,000 watts by adding additional panels and stackable controllers
  • Up to 98% solar conversion efficiency with MPPT charging
  • RV-C compatibility to communicate with other RV multiplex systems
  • A Bluetooth-enabled remote control
  • Compatibility with RVs wired for solar

“The Eclipse MPPT series packs a lot into one package,” said Eva Mitic, marketing manager at Go Power!. “Pairing MPPT charging, Bluetooth and sleek black panels, it offers a bit more of an advanced solar system that RV operators and campers have been asking for.”

Every Eclipse solar kit includes 25-inch MC4 cables and mounting hardware.

RV-C compatibility allows the kit to connect to integration systems such as Firefly.

The Eclipse enables a customer to use multiple solar panels per controller.

To meet regulatory requirements, many OEMs include two panels per controller. With the Eclipse, aftermarket customers can add another panel without problems, Go Power! RV Division Manager Mark Spilsbury said.

“If a customer wants to expand, they can add up to five 30-amp controllers and chain them all together and they can all speak to one remote on the wall versus having five different remotes for five different controllers,” Spilsbury said. “This allows the customer 3,000 watts of solar, or 150 amps, on an RV, probably more than anyone will use. I have seen up to three (controllers) lately, with six to eight panels on a roof of a big fifth wheel… that is pretty slick.”

The Eclipse series is shipping now and is available through Go Power!’s dealer network, including distributor partners NTP-Stag, Aim Wholesale, Arrow Distributing, Land N Sea Distributing, and Laurelhurst Distributors.
