California-based RV glass supplier Import Glass Corp. opened its fourth warehouse in Houston, with a satellite location in San Antonio that opened last week.
Import Glass was started in 1984 by Ramon Gonzalez Sr. and Irma Gonzalez.
The company entered the automotive glass distribution business in 1992. The company entered the RV market in 2015.
Ramon Gonzalez Jr. is now the company’s vice president.
Gonzalez Jr. said Import Glass has 21 facilities nationwide.
“Around 10 years ago, we began stocking some RV and bus parts for the local market in Southern California and decided to grow the division,” Gonzalez Jr. said. “Now, we have a full line of RV and bus parts at four of our facilities.”
Those facilities are located in San Bernardino, California; Phoenix; Houston; and Detroit.
“This week we opened a satellite location in San Antonio,” Gonzalez Jr. said, “and will be able to offer RV parts on our bi-weekly transfers, giving this market access to our RV inventory in Houston.”
The San Antonio facility occupies 32,000 square feet.
Gonzalez Jr. said an Import Glass employee takes most orders over the phone. The company sells directly to dealers, claims processors, auto-glass shops and local technicians.
