Hughes Autoformers recently received ETL certification for its Power Watchdog smart RV surge protector line. The ETL rating comes fast on the heels of the company’s celebration of one year in its new building.

The ETL certification enables Hughes Autoformers to sell and distribute these Power Watchdog surge protector models in Canada as well as the U.S.:

  • PWD30
  • PWD50
  • PWD30-EPO
  • PWD50-EPO
  • PWD30-EPO-H
  • PWD50-EPO-H

The ETL certification signifies independent safety testing was done onsite by ETL Testing Laboratories, a Nationally Recognized Laboratory (NRTL) to ensure a product meets relevant industry standards. The ETL conforms to UL STD 61010-1 and CSA STD 22.2#61010-1-12.

The 50-amp Power Watchdog surge protectors provide 4,800 joules of surge protection. All models have a limited lifetime warranty, a replaceable surge module and available auto shut-off capability.

Hughes Autoformers also celebrated one year in its current location May 27 with 11 employees attending a celebration at the company headquarters in Anaheim, California.

The company renovated a 10,000-square-foot 1977 warehouse on 0.5 acres last June, giving the company about double the square footage of its original space.

“One year goes by fast. Especially because we have seen so much growth in the last year,” Hughes Autoformers General Manager Brett Thomas said. “We anticipate that growth in another year or so. We may even outgrow this facility.”
