EXCLUSIVE: TravlFi 5G Mobile Hotspot Delivers Stronger Signal

Minnesota-based connectivity supplier Pace International has launched its new TravlFi JourneyGo 5G Hotspot.

Minnesota-based connectivity supplier Pace International has launched its new TravlFi JourneyGo 5G Hotspot.

The JourneyGo 5G is a considerable upgrade from TravlFi’s previous 4G model. The new 6G Hotspot’s typical speeds are 10 to 110 megabytes per second (Mbps) faster, and its peak speeds are 105 Mbps faster.

Pace International Vice President of Operations Nathan Popp said moving to a 5G hardware platform is the biggest driver behind the speed improvement.

“That gives JourneyGo 5G access to newer, faster network technology where 5G is available, while also improving overall performance compared to previous 4G-only devices,” Popp said. “It is not just a software update. It starts with the underlying modem and radio technology, with antenna design and system optimization helping us get the most out of that platform in real-world use.”

The new hotspot features 5G connectivity, which automatically falls back to 4G/LTE connectivity where 5G speeds are unavailable. The hotspot supports Wi-Fi 6 and has a built-in touchscreen. The touchscreen enables consumers to view connected devices, monitor data usage and adjust settings.

The JourneyGo 5G can support up to 16 connected devices with up to 24 hours of battery life. The Wi-Fi 6 connection provides typical speeds of 25 to 150 Mbps and peak speeds of up to 180 Mbps.

The device’s Wi-Fi broadcast range is 75–100 feet. Popp said a better overall local wireless platform provides the hotspot’s improved range. The previous JourneyGo model used Wi-Fi 4 connections.

“That improves wireless efficiency, device handling and overall performance around the RV,” Popp said. “We also put real focus into the wireless design and tuning, so the connection is moreMinnesota-based connectivity supplier Pace International has launched its new TravlFi JourneyGo 5G Hotspot. usable not only inside the coach, but also outside around the campsite, where RV owners actually spend their time.”

The company said the 0.15-pound device weighs roughly the same as a medium-sized apple.

For RV consumers, Popp said the most valuable feature may be TravlFi’s TowerSync technology. The feature enables the JourneyGo 5G to connect to the strongest available signal across multiple major networks.

“Users gain access to the best available connection,” Popp said, “without SIM cards, carrier contracts or manual network selection.”

Popp said automatically connecting to the strongest network can be a real advantage when signal conditions change from location to location.

“TowerSync builds on that by giving users both automatic optimization and, for the first time on the device itself, the ability to manually trigger a rescan if they want to look for a better signal,” Popp said. “That combination gives travelers more flexibility and a better chance of staying connected when they are away from traditional home internet.”

Pace International offers no-contract, month-to-month data plans for the JourneyGo 5G.
