Way announced the opening of its third facility late last week, a 60,000-square-foot warehouse in Niles, Michigan.

The new building is part of the company’s 2021 plans and in response to growth over the past few years. Spokesperson Eli Grant said Way continually is evaluating the space it needs to accommodate the volume the company is facing and projecting.

The additional space will add to Way’s two Elkhart, Indiana-based warehouses, increasing the company’s square footage to 325,000 in all.

The new warehouse’s location in Niles is a 20-to-25-mile drive from the Elkhart locations. The area was chosen to accommodate the size warehouse that Way needed. Operations commenced, with new deliveries going in and out, Grant said.An interior picture of the new Way warehouse in Michigan

“We are excited to expand our footprint and team again,” CEO Wayne Kaylor stated. “Our new warehouse is already helping us meet the market demand for our brands and products. It will provide us the space and manpower we need to further ramp up our inventory to serve our OEM partners and growing aftermarket business.”

The new warehouse provides support for all of Way’s product categories, including Everchill refrigerators, Greystone fireplaces and cooking appliances, Drive electronics and more.

“It is supporting the best of the business,” Grant said. “A large volume is our 12-volt refrigerators. Solar panels and accessories have been driving a lot [of volume].”

New products planned for first quarter release, such as air conditioners and cabin climate accessories, will be supported by the warehouse and announced at a later date.

Way is expected to add up to 10 jobs at the new location, including roles that will complete a team necessary to manage and operate a warehouse, Grant said.

The Way showroom, based in Elkhart, recently hosted more than two weeks of Open House meetings with customers, in-person and online. A virtual showroom tour is available here.
