The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is requesting information on companies with the ability to design and produce travel trailers for post-disaster temporary housing purposes.

The travel trailers must meet the Americans with Disabilities Act and Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards.

The Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency provides temporary disaster relief housing throughout the U.S. FEMA is seeking companies that are able to design and produce travel trailers to provide safe, secure and sanitary temporary housing for individuals.

The available travel trailer options for individuals with disabilities or accessibility needs are limited, FEMA stated. Therefore, the travel trailer option is constrained to those without accessibility needs. The agency stated a goal to diminish limitations surrounding standard trailer solutions that cannot assist individuals with accessibility needs.

Any company interested in responding to the request can find full details here. The deadline for responses is Nov. 30.
