Furrion announced it will begin taking pre-orders for its eRove electric cooler, with shipments slated to begin in January.

The eRove is powered by the proprietary Furrion ePod battery system, Furrion said, and can cool for five days with more efficiency than any existing solution or keep cold forever with the optional solar charging system.

“Going off-grid shouldn’t have to mean being without power or limited energy,” said Matt Fidler, co-founder and chief marketing officer of Furrion. “Sacrificing electricity and all of its benefits are a thing of the past with our ePod battery and solar charging systems debuting alongside the eRove electric cooler, ushering in the future of outdoor power generation and consumption.”

With cooler insulation and an electric refrigeration system, Furrion stated that eRove can stay off-grid forever. The onboard compressor can either be powered by ePod (up to five days of cooltime without any ice or 14 days with ice), a wall outlet (for stationary cooling), a DC outlet (for cooling on the move), or the optional solar charging system (for unlimited cooling).

Powered touch controls keep food cool or frozen, with temperatures from minus-8 degrees Fahrenheit to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. eRove’s cooling technology will keep ice frozen for 10 days without any power assistance.

The cooler has 50 quarts, or up to 72 cans, of storage space, along with a wheel kit, cup and umbrella holders, and a retractable handle and cutting board.

It also contains an onboard charging station with multiple USB and USB-C ports, as well as a 10-watt wireless charging dock.

Furrion’s eRove, ePod and all accessories are available for pre-order with limited early-bird pricing and special packs starting at $799.
