Valterra’s Go Power brand is releasing a portable solar solution for off-grid RVers.
The DuraLite Portable Solar Kit is compact and cost-effective, Go Power stated. The kit weighs 10 pounds and provides 100 watts of solar-charging power. The DuraLite-100 is a solar charger with “plug-and-play” capabilities that keeps batteries charged. The kit was created for smaller travel trailers and tent campers.
Go Power is offering an expansion kit for campers seeking more power. Users can add up to two expansion kits to the base unit, generating as much as 300 watts of solar power.
“We wanted to create a portable kit that removed weight as a barrier to entry,” Go Power Marketing Manager Eva Mitic said. “It is truly lightweight. The panel only weighs about 8 pounds, and the full kit is about 10 pounds with all the wiring and controller. It is super easy to store, making it perfect for tent trailers, teardrops and camper vans.”
The DuraLite kit is a great opportunity for dealers, Mitic said.
“With a large number of RVs being sold, the DuraLite kit will be an attractive add-on for most customers,” Mitic said.
DuraLite-100 kit highlights include:
- 60% lighter than aluminum portable kits
- USB charging incorporated into plastic handles
- 5 amps of charging power
- Built-in 30-amp, PWM lithium-compatible solar controller
- Panel weighs 8.4 pounds and folds to be 2 inches thick
- Kit comes with 12-foot power cable that lets campers “park in the shade, place in the sun”
