The Indiana Manufacturers Association (IMA) is rolling out a new program that targets maintaining safe workplaces.

The association’s new Healthy Business Certification program is a 3-hour training session made for individuals who want to learn about best practices and prepare for future pandemic-related response.

“In manufacturing, a focus on a safe workplace is part of the culture,” IMA stated. “Indiana’s manufacturers have been at the forefront of personal protective equipment production, and have also provided the model for safe workplace practices throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Program participants will become familiar with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and regulations, the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Attendees will receive a ready-made template to create a company “Business Prevention Plan.” Upon course completion, and after submission of the company’s Business Prevention Plan, participants will receive a Healthy Business Certification letter, certificate and decal, and digital badge, earning 0.3 CEUs.

Certification is good for one year and must be renewed annually, IMA stated. Class size is limited to 25 people. Those interested in enrolling can do so here.
