Companies and educational institutions will have the opportunity to connect with the next generation at the MFG Day kickoff webinar.
The Manufacturing Institute will host an online event from 2:30 to 3 p.m. EST as a teaser for Manufacturing Day, to be celebrated Oct. 1 this year. The webinar will provide more context to what the recognized day is all about, how to get involved and offer planning resources.
MFG Day is held annually on the first Friday in October, with events that continue throughout the month.
“As manufactures seek to fill 4.6 million high-skill, high-tech and high-paying jobs over the next decade, MFG Day empowers manufacturers to come together to address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive,” The Manufacturing Institute stated on its website.
This year, a focus will be on manufacturers’ roles during the pandemic. MFG Day will include a “strong emphasis” on digital and virtual events.
“With manufacturing careers at the heart of some of the most impactful work being done in response to the pandemic, we are excited to shine a spotlight on manufacturing careers,” the institute stated.
