Australian manufacturer MDC USA Campers and Caravans are unveiling the XT9 Off-Grid Extreme off-road travel trailer. The company calls the new trailer a compact and proven part of MDC USA’s Off-Grid lineup.

MDC President and founder Vaughan Hindley said the layout of the trailer is renowned for its exceptional capability and real-world durability.  The layout has earned a loyal following in Australia and is now available in America.

“The XT9 is founded on a proven compact layout and platform that has evolved through years of success in Australia’s overlanding scene,” Hindley said. “Its popularity comes from a simple formula: compact size, serious off-road capability and genuine off grid versatility”

The Off-Grid Extreme lineup now ranges in lengths spanning from 9-feet through 19-feet.

MDC USA said an advanced off-grid electrical ecosystem powers the XT9.

“Built around premium Renogy components, the system delivers a robust 400-amp-hour lithium battery capacity, 525-watts of high-efficiency solar charging capability, and a 3000-watt pure sine-wave inverter, ensuring reliable power for extended off-grid stays,” the company said. “Seamless auto-transfer between battery and shore power allows users to transition effortlessly between environments, while cloud-based and Bluetooth monitoring provides complete system oversight at all times.”

MDC USA said a standout feature of the XT9 is the 270-degree awning paired with a full annex, which effectively triples the livable space.Australian manufacturer MDC USA Campers and Caravans are unveiling the XT9 Off-Grid Extreme off-road travel trailer.

The XT9 is built on an in-house engineered chassis backed by a lifetime chassis and A-frame warranty.

“The advanced X-TRACK independent trailing arm suspension system delivers outstanding control and durability across harsh terrain,” the company said, “while practical safety features such as a rear-view camera provide added confidence both on and off the road.”

The XT9 Off-Grid Extreme Edition will make its first public appearance at the Idaho Sportsman Show at Expo Idaho in Boise on March 5. It will then be showcased at Overland Expo SoCal 2026 on March 14 at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California.
