Micro-Air, the manufacturer of the EasyStart 364 electronic soft-starter for RVs, has announced plans for a spring 2020 launch of the EasyTouch RV, the company’s high-tech new aftermarket wall thermostat for RVs.
The plug-and-play EasyTouch RV has a user-friendly touchscreen, as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities to allow consumers to control the temperature within their coach remotely. The concept is similar to the Nest smart thermostat popular in the residential market. Micro-Air already offers a similar EasyTouch product in the marine aftermarket.
EasyTouch RV will function as soon as consumers plug it in, with no programming necessary to work with A/C units from Dometic, Coleman/Airxcel and other manufacturers. The Bluetooth features will be fully compatible with Apple and Android smartphones.
The color, touchscreen thermostat can also be controlled from laptops or tablets. With Wi-Fi access, consumers can set and check the air conditioning and power status in an RV from anywhere, Micro-Air Director of eCommerce Marc Gerardi said.
“Imagine being able to cool your RV from your car, office, home or restaurant dinner table,” Gerardi said, “rather than returning to a stuffy, or cold, rig.”
EasyTouch’s spring 2020 release date is not finalized, but company officials say it will be available for this year’s camping season.
EasyTouch RV will be the second line of RV products for Micro-Air, which also makes products for the marine and residential industries. EasyStart, its first RV product, was finalist for RVIA’s 2019 Aftermarket Product of the Year honors.
