nuCamp began full production on its new Barefoot fiberglass teardrop in early December. The RV has been displayed at consumer trade shows in 2023 and will be on dealers’ lots by spring.

The Barefoot features a curvy, seaglass-colored fiberglass body, a free-flowing layout, and retro design.

In 2019, nuCamp partnered with British-based Barefoot Caravans to gain exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the Barefoot in North America. At the beginning of 2020, nuCamp began work to “Americanize” the UK version. The interior of the nuCamp Barefoot RV

In 2021 and 2022, unit prototypes were unveiled at the Florida RV SuperShow and Hershey RV Show. In December, the first unit rolled off the production line and was used at the official product launch, held at Princess Craft RV in Austin, Texas.

“Our goal was to take the beautiful UK Barefoot and transition it to the U.S. market,” nuCamp CEO Scott Hubble said. “We wanted to maintain the look and feel of the unit all while adding in components and features the North American market has come to think of as a standard.”

The RV’s one-piece fiberglass shell and unique egg shape stands out from the crowd, nuCamp said. The Barefoot is equipped with nuCamp signature components such as the Alde heating and hot water system, central air conditioning and the Nautilus water management system.

The trailer is 16 feet long. The kitchen has a sink, two-burner stove and a refrigerator. The Barefoot has a convertible dinette and a wet bath including a cassette toilet, a custom-designed sink and a shower.
