The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) is kicking off its year of recruitment at the 2022 Florida RV SuperShow, scheduled for Jan. 19-23 in Tampa, Florida.

RVTI Recruitment Director Tracy Anglemeyer said the show provides the opportunity to get in front of industry members and consumers.

“With the ‘Great Resignation’ we know there are a lot of people looking for new career opportunities,” Anglemeyer said, “and for those who are also interested in RVing, a career switch into the booming RV technician field is an ideal fit.”

RVTI is working to recruit and train over 1,000 new RV technicians from outside the industry this year. The result would create more expertly trained technicians diagnosing and repairing RVs, getting RVers back out on the road faster than ever.

Curt Hemmeler, RVTI executive director, said the recent surge in RV popularity caused a surging technician need.

“The Tampa show is the ideal location for us to be kicking off our year of recruitment,” Hemmeler said. “This event will give our team a chance to connect with people who are interested in the RV technician field and allow us to bring more techs into the industry.”

RVTI is engaging in partnerships with organizations outside the industry including high schools, trade schools, and government training programs. As millions of Americans reevaluate their careers during the pandemic and quit their jobs, the RV industry can offer quality pay and on-the-job training.
