RVIA is cancelling its Advocacy Day and RVs Move America Week because of Covid restrictions and barred access to House and Senate buildings after the Jan. 6 events at the U.S. Capitol.

The events originally were scheduled to take place June 6-10 in Washington, D.C. The association stated circumstances made it “impossible” to move forward with the events.

“RVIA’s Government Affairs team will continue to monitor developments around future access to House and Senate offices,” the association stated. “If it is determined that a modified version of Advocacy Day could be successfully held in the fall of 2021, we will explore the possibilities of rescheduling that portion of the event.”

RVIA’s annual Advocacy Day provides the association’s Government Affairs team an opportunity to visit Capitol Hill. Members meet with federal policy makers to create favorable business environments, protect against “onerous” legislation and represent RV consumers.

The association noted its board meeting will be held virtually June 10. Committee staff liaisons will work with chairpersons regarding virtual committee meeting scheduling, RVIA stated.

“We appreciate your understanding, as well as your continued support of the organization and our member-driven strategic priorities,” RVIA stated. “We look forward to continuing our work to drive our industry forward.”
