RVIA Extols Federal Legislation

A picture of a gavel next to legislation.

RVIA declared its support for the proposed bipartisan America the Beautiful Act federal legislation. U.S. Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mon.), Angus King (I-Maine), Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) introduced the bill.

The act would reauthorize the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund for eight more years. The legislation would ensure additional funds for public land deferred maintenance.

The Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA)—which invested $9.5 billion nontaxpayer funds and was signed in 2020—established the Legacy Restoration Fund.

The American the Beautiful Act builds on the GAOA’s objectives and raises funding from $1.9 billion to $2 billion each year. The legislation would enable 2025 projects to proceed under a continuing resolution and strengthen the ability for public donors to contribute to projects.

RVIA President and CEO Craig Kirby said, “This extended investment in our public lands is important, as it would allow RVers and other outdoor recreation enthusiasts to continue to access safe, maintained and enhanced outdoor spaces. We urge Congress to pass this legislation so that the great outdoors can be cherished for generations to come.”
