This week’s National Travel and Tourism spotlight was celebrated by RVIA to encourage the power of travel in “reconnecting, rebuilding and rehiring.”

National Travel and Tourism Week was named in honor of the tourism industry’s value in the economy, business and personal well-being. As the RV industry continues to boom economically and support consumers’ desire to explore outside, RVIA stated the industry remains a “strong example” of travel’s ability to enhance the lives of the public.

The RV marketplace is a significant economic driver, supporting nearly 600,000 jobs and paying $32.2 billion in wages, in addition to providing $114 billion in yearly economic impact.

The industry has been involved with supporting consumers’ mental and physical well-being, the association stated. According to Go RVing’s RV Owner Demographic Profile, some of the most common reasons consumers purchased an RV were relaxation, adventure and excitement, along with spending time outdoors.

“The health benefits and mental wellbeing that come from being outdoors cannot be overestimated,” RVIA President and CEO Craig Kirby said. “The RV industry is proud to build a product that makes it easier for people to get outdoors. And with more and more people using RVs to experience the great outdoors, that is great news not only for the RV industry but for the health and wellbeing of many Americans.”

Looking at trip spending alone, the RV industry supports nearly 100,000 jobs, pays $4 billion in wages and contributes $12 billion in annual economic impact

“Even better, data indicates that the recent surge of interest in RVs and the great outdoors will continue,” RVIA stated.
