A surge in those seeking RV-specific sales and management training was reported by Sobel University for the school’s first quarter.
The company’s VP, Jered Sobel, reported a 21 percent increase in new students, and 45 percent jump in number of sessions per user, the previous year. He said the data shows dealerships are “gearing up for the 2021 season in a big way.”
“Dealers have been busy hiring and providing new salespeople with base skills, as well as helping veterans hone their skills to prepare for the year ahead,” Sobel said.
Sobel said he expects the trend to increase until the market stabilizes. The increased traffic has pushed the school to make “enhancements” to its servers and technology, including developing software with dealership lesson plans customized for specific needs.
“Dealers have been working with our faculty to design programs that track employee development,” Sobel said. “This allows them to identify the skills for improvement so they can help more people go camping.”
Sobel University provides management, sales and consumer-based training in the RV industry. Since 1991, the school stated it has trained more than 65,000 students and more than 500 RV dealerships with a “moral, value-based approach to sales that makes dealers money.”
