The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following recalls:

 

Daimler Coaches North America

Switch May Fail to Illuminate Correctly/FMVSS 101

The driver may be distracted by switches that are too bright or by searching for switches that are too dim or not illuminated, increasing crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 511

Daimler Coaches is recalling certain 2009-2020 Setra S417 and 2012-2019 Setra S407 vehicles. The switches for the hazard warning lights, defroster, heating and air conditioning system and fan speed may fail to illuminate correctly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, “Control and Displays.”

The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 15. Owners may contact Daimler Coaches’ customer service at 1-416-624-3558.

 

Storyteller Overland

Entry Steps May Extend While in Transit

Steps extending while in transit increase crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 74

Storyteller Overland, LLC (Storyteller) is recalling certain 2024-2026 GXV Hilt recreational vehicles. The entry door position switch may not make adequate contact to read that the door is closed, which allows the steps to deploy unexpectedly.

Dealers will install a ground signal to the door switch circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 18. Owners may contact Storyteller customer service at 1-888-999-7442.
