After RV dealers stocked up on RVs for their spring selling season, Black Book reported wholesale RV values flattened in April.

The June Black Book RV Market Commentary, which covers data compiled from April, found wholesale prices declining by an average of less than $1,000 for motorized and towable RVs.

Eric Lawrence, Black Book’s Principal Automotive Analyst, Specialty Vehicles, said, “The prior month’s increases were almost certainly due to dealers competing to stock up for the spring rush, but once their lots were full, they returned to the practice of replacing units as they were sold.”

Towable RVs averaged $17,778 in April, down 5.5%, or $992, from the previous month. A year ago, towable RV values averaged 9.3% more at $19,606.

Motorhomes averaged $63,025 in April, down 0.8%, or $515, from the previous month. In April 2024, motorhome values averaged 6.4% less at $59,231.

Auction volume was mixed. Towable volume increased 13.4%, while motorhomes were unchanged.

The average age of towable RVs was five years (2020 model year). The average motorhomes age was nine years (2016 model year).
