Owners considering selling their dealerships will have two opportunities to examine the process at next week’s RVDA Convention/Expo.

Jesse Stopnitzky of Performance Brokerage Services and Brad Stanek of The Stanek Haack Group at Morgan Stanley will guide workshops on building a three-to-five-year roadmap for exiting the business.

The two will lead “Build Your Business to Maximize Your Exit” at 1:15 p.m. Nov. 11 at Paris Las Vegas.

The following day, they will present “Exit Strategy Starts Today: Preparing Now to Sell Smart Later” at 2 p.m.

In the first workshop, RVDA said Stopnitzky and Stanek will walk dealers through the critical steps to position their businesses for a successful exit. Dealers will learn to maximize dealerships’ value, increase marketability and avoid common pitfalls.

RVDA said the workshop will offer insights into valuations, the buy/sell landscape and evolving merger and acquisition trends. The workshop will equip dealers with the necessary information, regardless of how soon they might be considering a sale.

In “Exit Strategy Starts Today: Preparing Now to Sell Smart Later,” RVDA said dealers will learn how to build a roadmap that protects and multiplies owners’ wealth. Attendees will learn how to calculate a dealership’s worth.

Outside of the workshops, Performance Brokerage Services and The Stanek Haack Group by Morgan Stanley will have booths in the convention’s Exhibitor Hall.

Stopnitzky advises clients on the purchase and sale of RV and automotive dealerships. He is director of the Performance Brokerage Services’ RV division. The family-owned company has more than 30 years of experience, having sold over 900 dealerships.

Stanek is a financial advisor/executive director for The Stanek Haack Group at Morgan Stanley. He spent 16 years with Merrill Lynch before joining Morgan Stanley in 2009.
