Before Pulliam Enterprises, Inc.’s 2012 product, any half-to-one-ton tow vehicle needed an underbed frame bracketry in order for someone to install a fifth wheel hitch on it. The bracketry, though, had to be the vehicle’s specific year, make and model.

Even when truck manufacturers started to install underbed bracketry for fifth wheel towing, it was still specific to truck brands. This caused OE hitch manufacturers to make products compatible with each brand’s hardware. Pulliam Enterprises presented a solution with its fifth wheel OE Puck Series Super 5th hitches for Ford F250 and 350 trucks.

Founded in 1978, Pulliam Enterprises starts its PullRite hitches’ three-week production process in South Bend, Indiana. Large steel sheets and tubes are cut, formed and welded together, each hitch having as many as 25 different parts. The parts are then shipped to Mishawaka, Indiana, where employees assemble, package and ship them to dealers fully assembled. PullRite abides by the Society of Automotive Engineers’ standards, performing dynamic and static tests on all products.
