Rich Stinson

Biography

After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s in engineering, Rich Stinson started his career in Westinghouse Electric Company’s manufacturing development program. There, he worked in engineering, manufacturing and the supply chain.

Stinson later went to Eaton, where he was plant manager, operations director and general manager at various facilities in the United States, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Japan. He worked up to his vice presidential role managing the power distribution and electrical assembly divisions, among others. Stinson left Eaton in September 2015 and, one month later, joined Southwire Company, LLC as president. He was additionally named Southwire CEO in January 2016.

As someone who has consistently worked in the electrical industry, Stinson said he observed Southwire for much of his career as the No. 1 wire and cable manufacturer in the United States. Southwire produces half of all cables used to distribute electricity throughout the country and delivers power to millions around the world.
